About the Conference

Seema-Vimarsh 2025, a two-day International Conference (Hybrid Mode), is a pioneering academic and policy-oriented initiative aimed at critically examining the multifaceted issue of cross-border infiltration and its socio-economic, cultural, and political implications. Borders, both natural and man made, have historically influenced the evolution of civilizations, facilitated interaction while simultaneously posed challenges to governance, security, and cultural cohesion. In the contemporary context, cross-border infiltration has emerged as a multidimensional challenge, particularly for nations like India, with its extensive and porous borders. Historical legacies, diverse terrains, economic disparities, ethnic linkages, and the rising involvement of extremist networks and transnational criminal syndicates have made border security a complex and pressing issue. The conference seeks to provide an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, policy-makers, security experts, and civil society to deliberate on the security, socio-economic, cultural, and environmental ramifications of infiltration. By exploring indigenous knowledge systems, historical trends, criminal dimensions, and governance challenges, the conference intends to contribute to informed policy-making and sustainable borderland development.
